The Forms of the Wing Shun

Siu Nim Tao

The Form of the Little Idea

The first and the most important form in Wing Shun.
From the neutral stance of the Yi Ji Kim Yeung Mah, the Siu Nim Tao teachs the basic moves of the hand, defenses and strikes.


Chum Kiu

Seeking the Bridge

The second form of the Wing Shun introduces footsteps, changing of direction, kicks…, complementary to the hands' technics of the Siu Nim Tao.

This form use an 8 or 9 feet long pole. In order to work with this weapon and touch smaller and smaller targets, the wing shun fighter must correct the defaults of his stance and work of the centerline. This exercise improves overall power, coordination and precision.
